In the intervening years between publishing this story (2016) and now (late 2025 as I prepare for publishing), my characters have grown and developed. In a way, it may seem strange that I am going back to their earliest adventures and making changes. Fear not! Sapphira, Giulia, et al are fundamentally the same. Just a little bit more coherent and believable where I felt they needed to be. These are tweaks to ensure that I started them all on the right paths and have consistency within the overall series. Likewise, the plot needed tightening here and there.
On top of this, a few new things had to be introduced, and I particularly wanted here to set a firmer tone for Sapphira’s relationships with Father and Mother.
I also rewrote one of the sex scenes which I had never quite been happy with: Good sex writing is like good sex; you need practice and experience. You need perspective. In the intervening years I have learned about Sapphira’s demon form, what it symbolises and what it can do. That was a gift that could not be ignored!
For all of you reading this for the first time this will all be of no concern whatsoever, Just enjoy the ride! For those who may have read the earlier version, I hope you appreciate the work that has gone into
improving things.
